Assistant Director – Roles

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is a small Council with big values. As part of our commitment to transformation and continuous improvement, we have recently reviewed our management structure, creating several new Assistant Director roles with the aim to ensure greater focus on delivering both the strategic and operational aims of our authority. With many major projects and an ever increasing need to work together across service units and with external partners, this is an exciting time to join us and help us achieve our goals.

We currently have four Assistant Director roles available:

  • Assistant Director for Finance – responsible for the efficient management of the service unit, to include Finance and Revenues and Benefits, this role will also act as the Council’s Deputy Section 151 Officer for which an additional allowance of £2,650 per annum is payable. Therefore, appropriate qualifications to carry out this duty, along with experience at a senior management level are essential.
  • Assistant Director for Regeneration – this role will be key in ensuring the delivery and management of exciting regeneration projects for both Transforming Nuneaton and Transforming Bedworth. Therefore, it is essential that any candidates for this role have strong project management skills.

 

  • Assistant Director for Central Operations – responsible for managing a variety of support services, including IT and HR, this role will also play a key role in leading the transformation of services and processes across the Council.
  • Assistant Director for Environment and Enforcement – bringing together Environmental Health and Waste and Transport, this role aims to deliver more cohesive enforcement of environmental issues across the Borough. Ideally, candidates for this role should have sound knowledge and experience at a senior management level in one key services covered.

All roles are paid at £65,000 to £70,000 per annum, with a minimum of 26 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays. The Council also embraces agile working, and although due to the level of these roles there will be a requirement to attend some evening meetings, our employees enjoy a good work life balance with a mix of working from home and in the office.
